On September 5 at 12:00, psychologist Dmytro Telushko will present his new practical workbook “Fairy-Tale Therapy: About Inner Scripts, Old Roles and Stories That Repeat” at Goncharenko Centre Zhytomyr.
Why do people and circumstances change while certain stories in our lives seem to return again and again? We may repeatedly become the person who rescues others, waits, hides personal wishes, endures everything, avoids asking directly or tries to remain convenient for everyone around us.
During the event, we will talk about fairy-tale therapy and life scripts, exploring how familiar childhood stories, characters and plots can help us notice recurring roles, inner rules and patterns that continue to influence adult life.
Why does the role of the Rescuer feel so familiar to some people? Why can waiting feel easier than asking directly? Where does the habit of enduring everything, staying in the background or earning love through usefulness come from? And what changes when we begin to recognize an old script as a story rather than the only possible way to live?
A special part of the meeting will be the presentation of the new “Fairy-Tale Therapy” workbook. Dmytro Telushko will introduce the book, share the story behind its creation and explain how its fairy-tale imagery, reflective questions and writing practices can be used for self-exploration.
The workbook includes a 28-day journey through one’s own “inner fairy tale,” exploring recurring roles, hidden needs, old rules and life scripts. A separate section is devoted to working with fairy tales and discovering where an old story may begin to give way to a more conscious adult choice.
This is an opportunity to be among the first to discover the new book, meet the author and look at familiar fairy tales from an entirely adult perspective.
