How to Reboot Your Life: A Guide to Escaping "Groundhog Day"
Everyone wants to really LIVE, not just exist (preferably in capital letters with three exclamation marks!). We want to collect the "best days of my life" like fridge magnets: vivid impressions, breathtaking achievements, and dreams finally coming true.
But reality sometimes has a weird sense of humor. A day passes, then a week, a month... a year. And you realize the only thing you've added to your collection is another TV series season and a couple of new wrinkles from frowning. Life starts to resemble a computer that hasn't been rebooted in ages: everything is lagging, the picture is static, and you only have enough RAM to make it to the coffee machine.
Routine is a treacherous swamp. You want something NEW and WOW, but you keep walking the same track because it's familiar.
How do you delete this "boredom" virus? How to turn your life from a black-and-white movie into a 4K blockbuster? And most importantly, where do you find the energy for it?
Here are 4 strategies (with a pinch of magic and gratitude) to hack the system.
Strategy #1. Body Work: "Get Out of the Box"
Everything we do (or don't do while lying on the couch) is recorded in our body. This is our neurophysiological "memory." If you move along the usual "bed-chair-car" route, your body switches to energy-saving mode. To get something NEW, you need to surprise your organism.
Practical Step: Do something that makes your body say, "Are you serious?!". Wake up an hour earlier, go dancing (even if you think you have two left feet), or just get a massage.
Gratitude Moment: Thank your body. It endures your stress and lack of sleep. It deserves some new moves!
Strategy #2. Self-Awareness: "Take a Shower for Your Self-Esteem"
We often "freeze" because we are used to thinking the same things about ourselves: "I can't do this," "It's not for me." This is an old firmware version.
Practical Step: Do something that makes you say, "Wow, did I really do that?!". Surprise yourself!
Gratitude Moment: Thank yourself for your courage. Even a small victory is a reason to smile at your reflection.
Strategy #3. Consciousness Work: "Turn Off the Internal Radio"
Our consciousness often works in "market day" mode: constant internal dialogue and judgment.
Practical Step: Try living ONE DAY with the commentator turned off. Look at a tree and just see a tree, without thinking it needs pruning. Turn off the subtitles in your life.
Gratitude Moment: Be grateful for the silence. The best ideas are born there.
Strategy #4. Life's Work: "Create Because You Can"
Doing what you love is legal doping.
Practical Step: Do what makes your eyes sparkle! Haven't found your calling? Make searching your mission (my "Call of Destiny" course can be your navigator). Lost inspiration? Find your recipe for getting out of the crisis (I described my experience in the work "Master of Inspiration").
