Is Happiness Profitable? Well-Being Beyond Productivity

Money affects the level of happiness until you find a roof over your head, food and other necessities of life. And then money does not really affect the level of happiness. The level of happiness of multimillionaires is the same as that of their employees.

Dependence on money and happiness exists, only in the opposite direction. Research has shown that people with consistently high levels of happiness earn more and achieve greater success in life. Observations were made on people aged 18 to 20 years. Those of them who had a high level of happiness at this age, in the future (at the age of 38-40) had a higher income, better positions and were more successful at work than those who had a low level of happiness.

In addition to success in professional activities, people with a high level of happiness at the age of 18-20 married more often and more successfully than those with a low level of happiness. Their marriages were stronger and happier, and they were less likely to divorce.

These facts make us understand that true happiness is not something fleeting that depends on mood, but something more lasting, which holds indicators such as a successful career, a strong and happy marriage.

Children's success and failure in adulthood is directly related to their level of happiness in childhood and adolescence. And the easiest way to raise happy children is to be the happiest, because children copy you.

It is useless to explain to a child that reading is very useful if you do not read. The same with the rest: with sports, with proper nutrition, with psychological health, with the ability to overcome difficulties, with attitude to life, etc. If you learn all these things yourself, it will not only improve your life, but also improve the standard of living of your children.

In addition, this study showed that people with high levels of happiness are less likely to get sick. They are less likely to be caused by a serious illness, heart attacks, etc., are less likely to occur with it. Here the relationship is completely unclear, they are happy because they are not sick, or they are not sick because they are happier, or there is a third variable that affects both. But the results are available, people who have more happiness have fewer diseases.

A high level of happiness affects both health and our life span. On average, subjects with a higher level of happiness lived 9 years longer than people with a lower level of happiness.

From all of the above, it becomes clear that being happy is beneficial in the literal sense of the word. You live more successfully, longer, without diseases, and also in a happy marriage.

The focus should be on becoming happy in order to have a healthy and successful marriage, a successful career, and a life filled with purpose, rather than a rut. To be happy in order to live a rich, healthy, varied and meaningful life.

Research links positive affect and relationships with health and work outcomes. Yet relationships are bidirectional: better conditions also support well-being, while resources, health, and safety may influence both.

A happier person is not guaranteed higher income, health, or productivity. Group averages do not predict an individual fate or justify workplaces demanding positivity instead of fair conditions.

Sadness, anger, and anxiety may fit loss, injustice, and danger. Well-being includes a range of states, connection, meaning, autonomy, and recovery.

Acceptance Through Gratitude supports noticing resources without demanding constant positivity.
